I'm visiting out of town for the last month and while I've eaten at some great places, this is the first time I am passionate to write a review. I ordered on Uber eats and this is the first place that packaged everything properly (no drinks were spilled), read the notes (I asked to sub a croissant for the lox bagel), things weren't burnt, pastries were fresh, everything was delicious! It says a lot about a place when they put this much care into a delivery order, which is a real rarity. Genuinely highly recommend!!!! (we had all their stuffed croissants - amazing, smoothies, frappe, and bagels) Seriously, whoever made the order THANK YOU

This is my second time reviewing Avenue Cafe. First time I’ve tried their curry chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was flavorful with crunchy bits of celery. It was good but it could have used a little salt and pepper, which I added. The croissant was buttery and soft and the chips were super crunchy. I also ordered a raspberry tea which was really refreshing! I got my lunch to-go but would have eaten in the restaurant if I’d had more time. I like the quiet atmosphere and the big picture windows that are perfect for watching the passersbyers on St. Charles. Will absolutely be back to enjoy their breakfast and lunch items!

Love this cafe. Excellent food and coffee. Really loved the jalapeno sausage croissant as well as the ginger cookie. Friendly staff and a nice vibe too. Highly recommended

Great cafe, great food, great service and perfect location for people watching on St Charles. Everything is very fresh with vegan/vegetarian options. They serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, fresh-squeezed juices, pastries, fresh fruit, mimosas, blood Mary’s, irish coffees and amazing coffee! (amongst many other options) My personal favorite is the caprese sandwich and I add bacon for a bit more protein paired with a caramel oat milk latte and for dessert one the BEST muffins ever (They offer chocolate and blueberry) The baristas working are warm and welcoming and can easily accommodate for allergies and gluten/dairy intolerances. They offer oat and almond milk for nondairy. The best local coffee and pastries on this side of town. They sell t-shirts, tote bags and whole bags of coffee. There are even free stickers by the register! Everything at this cafe is super organized and curated for the guests use. (One of the cleanest public bathrooms ever on this side of town) The service counter has many sugar options and milks available for “dressing” your coffee as you like it. Also was very glad to see that this business recycles and composts, it is very eco-friendly business! This cafe is very well managed!! The atmosphere is here is wonderful, you can meet up with friends, come and sit and work on school work etc. There is plenty of space for accommodating larger groups as well! This cafe is right next to a streetcar stop and many hotels for convenience. I love this cafe 10/10- you have to stop by here if you find yourself on St Charles Ave!!

Avenue Cafe on St. Charles Street in New Orleans is a gem. The coffee is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the pastries are top-notch. I sampled many during my week there, and everything was fantastic, especially the onion brioche and the ham and parmesan croissant. A must-visit for coffee and treats!

Small quiet cafe, excellent food. The staff is friendly and the menu has something for everyone. Sandwich, pastries, and snacks as well as typical coffee selections. The ambiance is comfortable and relaxing.

Quaint and casual. They have a huge menu lots or pastries and savory breakfast options. No specialty coffee flavors but lots of liquor. I was surprise that they charge for half and half as an “alternative milk option”The staff is pleasant. And the coffee is good. The maple bacon sweet potato biscuit is not a biscuit. Maybe a scone...but tasty enough nonetheless. Don’t be deterred by the people outside. They are also pleasant and helpful.

Great little simple breakfast spot, they have sandwiches and pastries as well as fresh squeezed juices. We ordered the croissant sandwich, bagel sandwich, chocolate croissant and the cold brew coffee. Everything tasted delicious and was fresh. If you are looking for a quick and cheap breakfast spot then this is definitely the place to go.
